Arriving
To make your arrival as smooth as possible, our lovely onsite host, Jane, will personally welcome you, hand over the keys, and give you a short tour of the house and its amenities. Please let us know your expected arrival time a few days before your stay so we can be there to greet you. If your plans change, just send us a quick message—we'll make sure you have easy access and a relaxed start to your holiday.
To help you settle in, we've provided a small starter supply of essentials, including coffee capsules, toilet paper, and a few other everyday items, so you can comfortably arrive and ease into your holiday without having to rush out immediately.
If you're arriving by car, we do recommend stopping at one of the larger supermarkets on your way to Tamariu to stock up on groceries and any personal favourites. Once you've arrived, you can simply unpack, relax, and start enjoying your holiday at Casa Colina from the very first moment.
Kitchen
Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home, whether you're preparing a simple breakfast or a family dinner. You'll find a generous selection of cookware, dishes, glassware, utensils, a dishwasher, oven, stove, coffee machine, and a barbecue on the terrace for relaxed outdoor meals. We simply ask that all kitchenware and the barbecue are cleaned after use and returned to their proper place, ready for the next guests to enjoy. Thank you for helping us keep the house welcoming for everyone.
A/C, Heating & Water
The house has reliable A/C in all bedrooms. Please use responsible and turn it off if you leave for a long period of time. Hot water is available throughout your stay. During periods of drought, which can occasionally occur in this part of Spain, we kindly ask you to use water thoughtfully and avoid unnecessary waste — every little bit helps.
Tap water in Spain is safe for everyday use, including cooking and brushing your teeth. However, as the taste and mineral content can vary by region and season, we recommend bottled water for drinking. For cooler months, the house is equipped with heating, which is available during the off-season to keep you comfortable. If you have any questions during your stay, please feel free to reach out.
Trash & recycling
The Costa Brava is proud of its beautiful natural surroundings, and recycling is an important part of helping to keep it that way. Inside the house, you'll find separate bins for plastics, paper, and general household waste to make recycling easy.
Please note that there is no doorstep rubbish collection. At the entrance to our street, you'll find the local recycling containers: yellow for plastics and packaging, blue for paper and cardboard, green for glass, brown for organic waste, and grey for general household rubbish. We kindly ask that you take your rubbish with you when you head out and dispose of it there regularly, especially before your departure. Please don't leave any rubbish behind in the house.
House rules
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please kindly clean up after them.
Smoking is not permitted indoors, but ashtrays are provided for outdoor use.
Please be considerate of our neighbours, especially when using the terrace after 10:00 pm.
To avoid permanent staining, please refrain from applying sunscreen while sitting on the textile furniture.
Use of the house, outdoor areas, and grounds is at your own risk. Children must be supervised at all times, and parents or guardians are fully responsible for their safety and behaviour. Casa Colina cannot accept responsibility for accidents or injuries resulting from unattended children.
Before you leave, please empty the fridge, take all rubbish to the recycling containers, and leave the house tidy. Please enjoy Casa Colina as your home away from home, and treat our second home with kindness and care.
Amenities
Casa Colina comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay: high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house, A/C and heating in every room, a fully equipped kitchen, hair dryers, fresh linens and towels. Outside you'll find a private terrace with a barbecue, private garden with pool, sun loungers and outdoor dining area. We also have a Sonos music System available in the upstairs living area. If you would like to request cleaning of the house during a longer stay please reach out to us and we can arrange.
Before you leave
Please let us know your expected departure time so Jane can meet you at the house to collect the keys and do a quick walk-through with you. We don't offer self check-out, as we like to say goodbye in person and make sure your departure is as smooth as your arrival.
Before leaving, we kindly ask that you load and start the dishwasher, empty the fridge, take all rubbish to the recycling containers at the entrance of the street, close all windows and doors, and leave the house tidy for the next guests.
